This year’s Solar Technology Fair in Munich, Germany is gone and we were there again. Well, just as visitors. Here are couple of pictures together with a quick view to the fair.
This year’s Intersolar was very similar to the last year’s one by its extent. Compared to 2013 when the fair occupied 12 halls it fitted into 6 and half halls this time. The solar business stagnation manifested also at the fair. Although we immediately noticed that there had been a certain move at the solar market which had kind of got a second breath. And even despite of not such good conditions in individual countries.
The most interesting was the hall B1 where were energy storage sites manufacturers. There were large capacity solutions for big power sources, but family house batteries as well. Varta, Samsung, Solutronic and of course Tesla Energy with its hot news Tesla Powewall. It is available with the capacity 7 or 10 kWh for the price of 100 thousand incl.VAT. The electric cars producers introduced their hot news as well. And there were quite a lot of them! Tesla Motors, Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, Renault and others. The displayed cars were glittering and their open front and back bonnets looked like there is not an engine, but only a place for luggage.
There were the biggest world players in the field of photovoltaic inverters in the next two halls. SMA, Fronius, Kostal, Studer and a lot of other producers at which giant stands we felt more like in a restaurant. Beer, coffee and other goodies together with an army of smiling dealers ready to speak about any information about a chosen inverter model. And even here it was not all only about inverters. Most of them offer solutions with batteries and elements of an intelligent house therefore links between inverters and smart appliances with even smarter PLC which control everything.
Energy management was going through all the fair. Consumption monitoring, energy storing and its the most effective use. These were the main themes of other halls, but of the whole fair as well. The rest of halls belonged to manufacturers of solar panels, cables and assembly components. The last half hall belonged to manufacturers of technologies for renewable heating sources.
It looks like the solar business is going on and there is something to look forward to.
